Beet chips

Preheat the oven to 180° convection.


Clean the beet with a brush under the tap. Then remove the stalk, do not peel!


Slice with a slicer into thin slices of about 2 mm. Put them in a bowl and mix with 1 tsp olive oil and spices of your choice (I like it best with salt). It's best to work with gloves on the whole time!


Now place the slices side by side on the baking sheet. They should not touch each other in the process. Then put the chips into the oven. In the beginning, moisture forms, so you need to "ventilate" the oven regularly. It is easy to do this by opening the door briefly and then closing it again.


Now it depends on your oven. The first time, it's best to stand in front of it and watch. Sometimes the chips are ready after 10 minutes, in other ovens they need 20 minutes. They burn very quickly! They are done when the ends curl upward.
